*Celebrations!!! A Blog Hop with Giveaways!!!

The gals and I on Design Team at our LSS (Local Scrapbook Store) Paper Pals in Pullman have joined up to host this hop starting today and ending on Monday, January 25th at 8 pm to celebrate Angela's being published in the February issue of Creating Keepsakes.

*******

Recent comments around my home have included ... "yep, the days are getting longer", "3 calves to go ... way more to come", "no snow so far, just a few more weeks of no snow and then we'll have no snow".  Ok ... so this is the farmer talking.  As for the farmer's wife, well I LOVE the snow, enjoy calving (notice I didn't say 'love' as driving around to check on them in the middle of the night is not a love of my life), and I'm a winter girl.  I just love to wear the fun hats (speaking of which, have you been to HEARTETSY ... cute!!!)

Although, when Spring gets here I get the itch to play in the dirt.  And when it is time to play in the dirt, my love for playing with paper goes into hibernation.  My inspiration shifts from Scrapbooking magazines to Seed Catalogs.  Bright & cheery are my in-home comforts versus warm & comforting.  My sketches shift from future layouts & cards to garden layouts.

My giveaway is a fun purse that has Spring written all over it.  The fabric flower is just so darned cute!  It is lined, has a magnetic 'button' closure and a coordinating pocket inside.

It was created by Wendy over at FarmHouse Accessories (a local gal).  I have several of her items (pillows, table linens & purses) in my home and just L.O.V.E. everything she creates.  If  you get a moment to read her blog Almota Roses(also on the right) you'll fall in love with her four red-headed children.

Please let me know what you look forward to as Spring approaches & you'll be entered for an opportunity to have this wonderful purse over your shoulder when Spring arrives.  Comments qualifying to enter for prizes are open until Monday, January 25th at 8 pm PST. All winners will be posted on the Paper Pals Blog by Tuesday the 26th at noon and here at the Big Red Barn by Tuesday evening, the 26th.  Open to US & Canadian residents only.

I look forward to reading your comments and maybe, getting some more ideas for things to do in my yard & gardens.

Once you've posted, hop on over to another one of the Paper Pals Design Team's blog

We moved into a new house in May and had a baby in June, so our yard/garden/8 acres didn't get the love it deserved. This year we hope to get a garden in, plant some flowers in the flowerbeds, do some landscaping and enjoy the spring air with our little girl.

That purse = adorable!

OHH that purse is cute! This spring we will be almost all the way out of debt (will still have school loans). So we are planning on taking a nice vacation. We are also planning on moving into a bigger place so planning on doing some spring purging of stuff I don't use anymore as well.

I'm looking forward to warmer weather when Spring comes which then leads to new life (trees, flowers, etc.)

Well I just built a house, so I would like spring to get here so I can turn my mud pit into a yard.

I am excited for spring to get here because we built a house this winter. Right now we have a big mud pit and I would like to have a yard instead of mud, mud and more mud.

DAFFYS! I look forward to the first glimpse of yellow faced daffodils! When I first moved here I was suprised at the sheer volume of daffys on the Palouse...now every spring I can't wait until each little clump comes out to greet me :)
(P.S. love love love Wendy's creations, so stinkin' cute!)

Love the purse. For me spring will bring a trip home to Southern California to visit my parents and then a trip to Boston to visit my great aunt who will be 97. All the family will be there and I cannot wait. the purse would be a great addition to showing off my own handmade stuff. One of these days I am going to learn to sew too on the machine my step daughter got for Christmas.

The first thing I look foward to is just opening my windows and letting the fresh air in. Then starts longer days and shorter nights which means more time to play outside with the kids. Watching them pick the weeds they call flowers to give me.

Love the bag, that is so cute! I always look forward to planning out our garden plots and getting the garden started. And I love the sunshine :)

what a cute purse. While most people embark on personal improvement projects starting in the New Year, I tend not to get started until Spring. When the weather is nicer, I'm more compelled to exercise. This Spring I hope to start training to run some sort of local race.

Spring, I love Spring. I am most looking forward to several trips I will be taking this Spring: San Francisco and Tennessee. I'm also looking forward to my kids' birthdays.

OOoooooh, I love this purse! I'm looking forward to the flowers just about ready to open and my kids and I planting all of our pots!

LOVE the purse, I was dreaming about spring today when the sun was out and shining! I was just hoping for sun and gardening, and dreaming of fresh veggies from the garden!

My plans for spring are to be at LEAST 20 lbs. lighter, have my house sold, and be debt-free with my hubby in Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary! Now if I could only find diet chocolate...

We just moved into a new (old) house, and I have no idea what to expect from the yard. Can't wait to see what comes up.

I'm just looking forward to spring, really. We moved to California this past summer from Pullman, and I've never experienced spring in California. It may be winter here, but it feels like spring in the Palouse here...a winter without snow doesn't really feel like winter.

Oh your blog is sooooo awesome and that purse is darling!!
I LOVE Spring because it means the END of Winter! I have personal reasons for disliking snow and winter is just not my favorite season like it used to be.

Beautiful purse! I look forward to playing softball, and discovering just how old I REALLY am. :)

I'm hoping to put in plants and my garden this spring as we built a home and everything is bare...it needs color and love! :-)

Oh...this was the last blog to hit for me of this blog hop and what a treat! I went to highschool with Angela and reconnected through FB. I also owe a huge gratitude to FB, so I loved what you wrote about that!! In fact I loved all your "words" or rather, the way you put them together. :) What a fun blog. And so neat to see the great things you offer the area. So much as changed since my husband and I lived down there. Now...I am curious just where that big red barn is. Perhaps it will be some fun trivia for my husband, who group up in Palouse and I swear knows 80% of Whitman County on a first name basis. I will get back to you if he knows! Thanks for the great blog hop "stop".

Oh what a beautiful purse!
I have to tell you that since I am not used to having as much freezing as we had this year, I am really looking forward to Spring this year because my lawn and plants are sooo ugly right now. I was just given a lemon bush and I am very excited about letting it become a small tree. But more than anything else, I can not wait for my thick, weed-free, St.Augustine lawn to come back!!!

I love the purse, but I do love sewing "almost" as much as scrapping...almost! LOL

That is one sassy and cute purse, Suzy!

That's fun that you are doing a blog hop to celebrate Angels's CK pub! Good for her... I'm still tryin' to break into CK!

I am sooo looking forward to Spring, and I don't even really like Spring, but I am crazy tired of being cold and I just want to be warm again! Lol!

That purse is adorable!! I can't wait for Spring because I hope to plant some flowers, garden this year, and spend more time outdoors. We are planning on taking a family vacation to Disneyland and taking the kids to Legoland as well. :)

Wow... what do I look forward to about Spring?

I cannot wait to be able to walk outside again without feeling like I'm going to fall or freeze.

It's a great thought to hold onto during the blizzards here. :-)

Thanks,
Rebecca

I love the promise of a new year with new beginnings. I look forward to waking up every morning to the sunshine, and drinking my coffee on the porch. Taking my kids to the park and Idler's Rest... Ahhhh. The thought of Spring. I can't wait.

This spring we look forward to the pitter patter of lots little piggie feet! Our Red Wattle sows Lady Anna and Little Debbie will be farrowing the first group (for our farm)of critically endangered Red Wattle piglets. One little piggie peaking out of that purse would be too cute. THEN only I will use it :)

Hi, I have a creative blog too. I post many different things there that I create, but mostly scrapbooking. I am a hands on scrapper and don't think I will ever be a digital one.
